Description for case is given below :
Just weeks into her new job, Mia Foster, a first time CEO with no international management experience, is faced with a major challenge at Levendary Café, a $10 billion US-based fast food chain. Strategically, many of her corporate staff have become concerned that the company’s major expansion into China is moving too far from Levendary’s well-defined concepts of store design and menu. Organizationally, Foster has been frustrated by the apparent unwillingness of Louis Chen, president of Levendary China, to conform to the company’s planning and reporting processes. Meanwhile, financial evidence shows that Chen’s efforts have produced strong results and suggests that he knows China far better than U.S headquarters does. The entrepreneurial Chen has resisted attempts by Foster and others to discuss corporate plans for China. As Foster flies to China to meet with Chen she faces a decision that will determine the future of Levendary China and perhaps the entire globalization effort: can she manage Chen at all, and if so, how?

However, Romania is experiencing a period of economic growth after joining the European Union and Carle believes it is time to reconsider the opportunity despite continued skepticism within the company. Carle faces several important decisions before he can present his plan to the head of International Consumer Businesses. He must decide whether to launch a credit card business in Romania, how to position the credit card, and how to acquire new customers most effectively. Description for case is given below :
Grupo Garantia was a spectacularly successful conglomerate group in Brazil. Observers commonly called its founder The Midas King – all he touched seemingly turned to gold. The group encompasses four main businesses: Brazil’s biggest investment bank; one of Brazil’s largest retail chains; one of the world’s largest breweries; and an equity investment company. The collection of six cases (including an appendix on Brazil’s socio-politics) examines the fortunes of each of the businesses and of the corporation during the period of Brazil’s globalization. Students must decide how to shape the future of the group’s businesses, which global competition has variously boosted or ravaged. The Grupo’s fate is also in question given the stabilization of Brazil’s economy and the need to structure corporations according to the new circumstances faced by an economy more integrated into the world economy.

Description for case is given below :
This case illustrates the financial, strategic, and managerial challenges faced by a manufacturer of audio amplifiers and vacuum tubes in the Czech Republic. Eunice Kron became CEO of KR Audio Electronics when her husband, the founder of the company, died unexpectedly. From 1996 until her husband’s death in 2002, Eunice Kron had been only marginally involved in the business, writing letters, translating documents and answering phone calls. When her husband died, Eunice decided to manage the company herself, despite the skepticism of suppliers and customers. Eunice solicited payments and orders herself, and traveled to electronics tradeshows to learn about the industry and court potential buyers. KR’s engineering team continued its technology innovations and developed new products. In 2002 and 2003, the SARS epidemic, the U.S. involvement in the war in Iraq, and the devaluation of the dollar on the international currency market had an adverse impact on the company’s ability to sell its products. As losses mounted, Eunice was not sure how or if she should continue to keep the business afloat. In 2004, Eunice is faced with the decision of whether to hire a young man to help market KR’s products at the upcoming audio show in Las Vegas. Ultimately, she must decide how to proceed for the longer-term: should she continue to manage the company herself, try to find a partner, or sell out.
