Description for case is given below :
Deloitte Dads is a firm-sponsored diversity and inclusion initiative aimed at supporting working fathers within Deloitte (Canada) LLP, an independent member of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited global network. With support from senior management, Deloitte Dads was founded in 2010 by a junior consultant in the management consulting division in the company’s Greater Toronto Area office and quickly gained both members and media attention. The group not only had to be distinctly separate from other parenting initiatives already in place but had to negotiate with the company’s performance management practices, which historically had not considered flexibility in appraising employees. In 2013, the founder was wondering not only if the group could be rolled out to other divisions within the company across the country and perhaps across the world but also how best to handle its success while managing his own career and the demands of being a father of two small children. He had mastered the quarterly events within his office, but how could he create a formal governance model? Already working 80 to 90 hours per week, with no end in sight, how was he going to make Deloitte Dads sustainable and successful?

Description for case is given below :
Although McDonald’s breakfast and snack sales increased, they have not kept pace with industry growth. The primary barrier to this sales growth in the Canadian market, according to a franchise owner, is the quality of the coffee. McDonald’s in Canada has tried to build its coffee brand equity for many years. It had switched to the Higgins and Burke coffee but had little success changing negative customer perceptions. To change customer perceptions, McDonald’s needed to revolutionize its coffee program. McCafe was introduced in response to this coffee issue: a full-service coffee bar located in a McDonald’s restaurant as an extension to the front counter or located as a stand-alone restaurant. Over 300 McCafes existed worldwide. Although McDonald’s would like to get a piece of the lucrative coffee market, McCafe’s main objective was to eliminate coffee as a barrier to breakfast and snack sales. The question for one franchise owner is whether McCafe’s strong initial sales can be sustained.

The newly hired head of Strategic Resources Planning and Management at Royal Bank of Canada Investments (RBCI) must develop a “dashboard” mechanism for strategically assessing and managing RBCI’s non-interest expenses, excluding brokerage fees associated with providing value-added service to clients. After a week of analysis, two things became apparent: first, the four major business units within RBCI were operating independently, neither collaborating on projects nor sharing information; second, most of the non-interest expenses were related to information technology projects. Considering that RBCI was spending nearly $700,000 per day on service delivery, the senior management team was extremely eager to see what the head of Strategic Resources Planning and Management would propose. Presents information technology portfolio management challenges facing large organizations, and challenges students to develop performance metrics that will be useful at the most senior levels of the organization.
